The YMCA hosts various fitness, swimming and sport challenges throughout the year to motivate our community. Check out what we have to offer. Challenges motivate and inspire, and also help you stay accountable so you can become a better version of yourself!
Christmas Swim Challenges
Christmas Swim Challenge:
Stay in shape with a holiday swim challenge. The challenge is to swim 24 lengths on December 1st, 23 lengths on December 2nd, and so on. On December 24th you will have one length to swim. If you swim more than the required lengths on a certain date, you can bank the extra lengths! All swimmers that complete the challenge will receive a festive shirt.

Clarion County 100 Mile Swim Challenge
Clarion County – 100 Mile Club Swim Challenge
We’re excited to highlight our swimmers who go to the great lengths in 2026! We will be recognizing swimmers who swim 100 or more miles in the 2026 calendar year. Those who achieve the goals will receive custom prizes and their name listed on the Wall of Fame for 12 months.
One mile = Sixty-six lengths. One Length = One 25-yard swim across our pool.
You must be a Clarion County YMCA member to join.
When: January 1st, 2026 – December 31st, 2026

Star and Stripes Swim Challenge
Stars and Stripes Swim Challenge
Make a splash this summer with our Stars & Stripes Swim Challenge! Participants are invited to swim a total of 17.76 miles—a tribute to the year 1776—over the course of the program running from June 1st through August 14th.
Whether you’re a competitive swimmer, fitness enthusiast, or just getting started, this challenge is designed to keep you motivated, active, and engaged all summer long.
Complete the challenge and earn a patriotic tank top. Earn your shirt by July 4th!
How It Works
- Track your distance each time you swim
- Swim at your own pace—laps, workouts, or open swim all count
- Total goal: 17.76 miles (31,258 yards)
- Progress tracking sheets or digital logs available
- Celebrate milestones along the way!

Thanksgiving Swim Challenge
Challenge yourself to swim off the stuffing all month! Track your yardage and work on keeping the pounds off during the holidays.
Prize: The swimmer with the most yards will receive a turkey trophy!
