The YMCA hosts various fitness, swimming and sport challenges throughout the year to motivate our community. Check out what we have to offer. Challenges motivate and inspire, and also help you stay accountable so you can become a better version of yourself!
500 lb Club
Lift at least 500 pounds total combining your weight lifted from a deadlift, squat, and bench press. Lift the minimum and become part of the club! Club Members receive a free t-shirt and get their name on the Wall of Strength in the weight room!

April No Fools Challenge
April no fools challenge: Achieve each fitness or wellness goal of each week and be entered in to win a prize! Register for $10!
Don’t let your goals by the wayside as the weather heats up. Stick with our No Fools Challenge for all four weeks and get ready to celebrate your results!
Each week, you are challenged to:
- Crush one full-body strength workout
- Blast through two hours of cardio activity
- Drink “enough” water – at least 64oz a day for most of us
- Enjoy 4+ servings of veggies per day
- Complete the weekly bonus workout
Track your successes on your card and add links to your chain for each weekly goal that you complete. The weekly bonus workout well be posted in the wellness center.

Blood Pressure Monitoring Program:
Take control of your heart health with the American Heart Association’s Self-Measured Blood Pressure Monitoring (SMBP) program. Designed to empower individuals to manage their blood pressure at home, this program provides tools and resources for accurate monitoring, helping you and your healthcare team make informed decisions. By tracking your blood pressure regularly, you can take proactive steps towards a healthier heart. Join the SMBP program today and start your journey towards better heart health! Register at the YMCA Front Desk today! Blood Pressure cuffs will be loaned out for 2 week sessions.

Drop 10 in 10
10 IN 10 – APRIL-JUNE
Lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks and win prizes! Contest begins April 1 and runs 10 weeks, ending June 7th. Your goal is to lose a minimum of one pound per week to stay on target. Weight loss of 1 pound per week is a safer, more effective way of losing weight and keeping it off. Everyone that weighs out 10 pounds lighter will be entered to win an array of prizes. Weigh-ins are conducted at the YMCA April 1-3. Weigh-outs are June 5-7.

February Go RED Challenge
Go Red Challenge – February
February is national heart health month. Wear red every Friday of February at the YMCA in support for people struggling with cardiovascular disease. The YMCA will also provide information about heart healthy habits from our HeartCorps service members.

Fitness Assesment
Your resting heart rate, blood pressure, weight, and body fat percentage are measured. Fitness tests will then be administered to assess your cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, and flexibility. These assessments will help you identify your strengths and weaknesses and help you determine an exercise program to achieve your fitness goals. By appointment. $10 for YMCA members

Learn to Run a 5k
Become stronger, healthier and faster with each step! Have a one on one 30 min assessment at the beginning to make a personalized running/run walk/walking plan specific to you. Receive a one-month plan to get ready for any race or to become a better runner/walker. All ability levels are welcome. Sign up with a friend and stay committed together! This program is led by Emma Davis and is ongoing! Register now for $30 for a monthly plan.

LiveSTRONG
LiveStrong: Cancer Survivor Program
In partnership with the LIVESTRONG Foundation, the YMCA has developed a small-group cancer survivorship program for those who are living with, through or beyond cancer.
Program Details
Our 12-week program* includes:
- Two 75 to 90-minute sessions per week
- Cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, balance and flexibility exercises
- Fitness and quality of life assessments before and after participation
- YMCA-certified instructors helping you every step of the way
*Requires referral and medical clearance from a physician. Open to adults 18 years or older at low or no cost.

March Mile Madness
MARCH MILE MADNESS—MARCH

Weight Loss Challenge
Slim down and earn cash! This eight week challenge will motivate you to lose 5% of your body weight, and if you do, you’ll earn cash! Participants will weigh-in at the beginning of the challenge and weigh-out at the end. Look for tips and encouragement from a wellness coach. The challenge is to lose 5% of your body weight in 8 weeks. May 5th – July 5th
Weigh in at the YMCA during our hours of operation on May 5th – 10th
Members pay $25; Non-members pay $45 for the challenge
The $20 challenge fee goes in to a winners’ pot to be split by all the winners. The additional cost goes to the YMCA.
Complete your final weigh-in at the YMCA during the hours of operation on June 30th – July 5th
